With students starting as early as three – Ms. Ravitsky has developed teaching methods that are easy to learn as well as practical in application. Piano By Color® works simply by associating colors with five basic notes in the middle C scale. These five notes are identified in the music with the color that is on the piano keys. Because of the student’s ability to recognize colors, they are able to quickly make the association with the notes. Within the first lesson they are playing simple songs.
At this age, the student usually starts in a small group of two or three students. This way they are able to develop playing skills while interacting with the other children in the class. Surprisingly by the first recital, the students are able to perform short pieces.
